Welcome, welcome, welcome....come join me as I chronicle my miserable experience with the Mall of Georgia Ford Service Department Team of Clowns. This circus of events would be hilarious if it weren't:
1) 100% true2) Costing me several thousands --->$$$$6k+ and counting
3) Making my wife miserable (her SUV)
4) A complete time dump (tens of phone conversations; 10+ related trips to/from Mall of Georgia Ford
5) Legal action ?$$$$?
6) and now a thriving blog :-(
Seriously folks, we aint talking circus dollars, we are talking real, hard earned Benjamins. In fact, we've spent over $6k with this mess of a dealership, Mall of Georgia Ford, over the past two+ months and we've noticed three recurring themes:
1) Consistent poor performance and disappointment
2) Well articulated Bull Sh++ (think: being told its raining while they're pissing down your leg)
3) Weak and squirmy leadership (The most troublesome of the three!!)
But you'll hear a lot more about all those details in later blog postings. For now, let's take a moment to meet the "Clowns" that I have been dealing with over the past two months.
Bill Avery, Service "Manager" - the smooth talkin but not doing the walkin circus ring leader
Some of my favorite Bill Avery quotes:
"I guarantee that this will fix everything...it's just going to cost another $887.99" - it didn't work
"In fact, I'll test drive the Navigator myself to make sure it is fixed" - didn't happen
"The expansion block and hoses go bad and need to be replaced ALL THE TIME on these Ford engines" - do you really think this makes me feel good about my Navigator????
"I only fix what is broken and stand behind all of my work" - paid to be fixed, same issues remain and now it's an new problem that just showed up that will cost my family more $$$$$$
"I'm sorry your were on hold waiting for 18 minutes, I didn't know it was you" - should i believe that or do you make everyone wait on hold for that long?
"I'll call you by 9am on Monday with a meeting time for you to speak with my General Manager"
- got the call, but he only spoke some gibberish and refused to provide a meeting time with Mall of Georgia Ford General Manager, Mike Jordan. so that we can work toward resolving these issues.
Tony Ownes - Service "Mis-advisor" - I honestly don't even know where to start to do this fella justice. This guy totally cracks me up. Him talk out both side of mouth but neither side make sense. Some of my favorite quotes from Tony,,,,
"Those guys at Firestone don't know what they're talking about. There's no coolant leak, all these problems are caused by a failed A/C switch..that'll only be $232 to fix"
....10 mins after I pay $232 for a switch and getting into my SUV...
"What do you mean that didn't solve the problem, you'll need to bring the Navigator back in" - Did anyone check to see if the car was actually blowing cold air????
....2 hours later....
"There wasn't enough freon in the system. Those guys at Firestone didn't know how to put the right amount of freon in. We balanced it out"
...week later after the SUV is blowing hot air....
"Looks like there is a leak in the freon lines, those will need to be replaced maybe it wasn't the switch issue after all" - CHA-CHING....That will only run me a cool (pun intended) $800+ MORE to solve that "new" issue.
"Those missing pressure caps to the freon lines are for looks only, you can come pick them up any time" - seriously, your tech forgets to properly seal the A/C system and I need to make m 11th trip to Mall of Georgia Ford?????
Branden - Ford Collision Center Adviser Ironically, he the most professional out all the circus crew that I've met at Mall of Georgia Ford. If there is any REAL leadership a MOG Ford, I suspect Branden will rise in the ranks quickly. Or, he'll realize that his future is too bright to be compromised by these circus antics.
Those nice things being said, Branden is responsible for delivering the proverbial 'straw that broke the camel's back'. It was quite subtle and the financial impact the least out of all the other 'ill gotten gains Mike Jordan's circus team has pilfered from this hard working family. However, it is most indicative, of my exposure to the manner by which Mall of Georgia Ford conducts business. Here goes....
"Hello, thank you for your payment of $5,400 for the body work we performed. There was, however, an $85 fee from our service department THAT I FORGOT TO CHARGE TO YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY" - seriously, the team at Mall of Georgia Ford performs poorly, forgets to do something and now I have to pay for it??
MAKE NO MISTAKE - BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE, THIS IS HOW MALL OF GEORGIA FORD AND MIKE JORDAN DO BUSINESS
Check back in for my next profile...
